Water heater & heating system next to the window!!

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody could help me identify the norms for Vermont for the heating system and water heater that are both vented up through the roof on the backside. Both vents are located by the windows to the second floor back bedroom. The house is just being built and I think this is not safe to have both vent close to the room windows. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice?

What is the height of the stack in relation to the surface vertically?
What is the distance from the top of the stack and the roof horizontally?

2 feet vertical from surface and 10 feet horizontal from surface may be your answer. Depends on roof pitch and design.

P.S. it is not about norms but about code. Have you gone to the local permit office?
