The John Woods power vented NG fired water heater serial number U1144 F702057.

The Building Intelligence Center denotes/indicates; after 2008, the 2nd and 5th digits represent YYWW (year, week).
Following an upper case letter there are 2 series of sequence numbers in the serial number .
How do you determine the age of this product?

Much thanks for any help.
Robert

The U is the warranty code which is 8 years standard warranty.
The 11 is the year = 2011
The 44 is the week

Prior to 2008 the last two numbers = month

The F is where it was manufactured = Fergus and the rest of the number is the production number.

The building intelligence site has a link to John Wood FAQ's

It was right there.

If you cal the "U" a digit, then the date code is indeed the 2nd and 5th digit, but also includes the 3rd and 4th digit.

Actually the date code is the first 4 digits, but hey, what do I know? ;)

You're the best!

I tried to call JW customer service, but my phone did not work.
I laughed at myself many hours afterwards. "Bob, you "nincompoop" Ha ha ha!!!

I have 2 identically looking, Samsung S phones.
As well, I have them both in identical Otter cases.
Good idea:confused:

To further my aggravation,:frusty: I unlocked the S5 to go to another service provider at cheaper rates and more service and have a second mobile number but have not initiated the service as of yet.
The S7 is, and will remain, my primary phone.

Low and behold, after 12 hours or, What Up Doc???", I discovered I was a nincompoop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGD69Q9rz3M). :o I had the S5 on my person, and not the functioning S7.
What a Moroun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Kh7nLplWo). What a ignoramumius.
