This is the 3rd time I have found this. It is very fine sand ike substance. We moved in 3 months ago and have not noticed it anywhere else? What could this be?

I couldn't tell much from the photo, but finding it in the pantry only, and it being granular as you described, I would first suspect sugar or something similar.

Smell it then Taste it!

I concur with Jerry on this.
Debra, I am not making fun but, you must be a bachelorette.;)
I thought I ate out allot?

There are all types of granular's and powdered ingredients for cooking and baking in pantries.
Resembles sugar or salt.

Roy? Not the best advice.
Do not taste it.
Even if it was eatable, the thought of tasting something that has been on a floor is not a hygienic or a safe attitude. You may expose yourself to undue harm or even unnecessary tragedy.
You just have to think about the germs and cleaning toxins floors build up over time to realize, not a good idea. As well, I do not think any SoP requires such methods.

Good luck.
Robert
