Looking for some help...what is this?

It looks to be some sort of electric pump but there are no marking that would help. It's located on the water line to an exterior hose bib. Not sure what it would be for, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a 120V solenoid valve, but I can't enlarge the photo (you posted it inline).

Next time, try to get the data label or markings for an ID.

Yes, looks very much like a solenoid valve. I would bet for a timer function for an outdoor sprinkler or watering system.
