Vent Pipe contacting Gas Pipe

Attached is an inspection I recently did.
The single walled heating vent pipe was in contact with the gas pipe.

I wrote it up as a a problem, but I couldn't find any reference in the code books. Anybody have any info on this?

There's no problem with the gas pipe\vent connection. But . . .

The flexible gas appliance connector is not properly protected where it enters the side of the furnace. And . . .

There appears to be no gas shut-off valve for the furnace.

The shut off was above, but not shown in the picture.

Am I wrong... that yellow gas flex line cannot enter the furnace cabinet????

It looks like that flex enters the cabinet quite well. ;)

You are correct in that it should not.

What i'm seeing is instead of hard pipe being installed, people are just wrapping the flex with a section of foam insulation or electrical tape thinking that is going to be acceptable. What realtor started that as being ok?

Also, I don't see any support strap for that vent where it goes horizontal and than there is the elbow.

More than the lack of the first one foot not being a vertical rise? ;)

(Looked like it was sloped to me, but, from that angle, and no support, maybe it 'was' vertical when I saw it and now it a dropped? :D )

Needs a NEW Flue System for sure, I'd take a CLOSE LOOK at all the Gas Appliances.

Good to see ya'll picking up on these defects:
-lack of minimum vent connector rise
-lack of support at either offset
-no sign of mechanical fasteners at each joint including attachment to furnace collar
-flexible appliance connector unprotected penetration of appliance cabinet ( some mfrs. may allow this is reasonable protected from chafing, blunt trauma or electrical bonding to cabinet.

What does it vent into? Is there a manifold with WH?

Some mechanical fasteners 'are' visible in that photo. The other joints are not visible or taped over and may (or may not) have mechanical fasteners in them.
