Crashed my inexpensive SharkSpark drone. R.I.P.

I need suggestions for a new bird. I've looked until I cannot look further. Too many choices. I would like one that is easy to operate, takes 4K video, GPS, self-returning, auto-hovering, etc. And, most importantly, under $10,000:o. Please send me your ideas.

I edited this several times beginning with a $500 limit and increasing it incrementally up to $10K (like I would ever pay that for something I can crash into the nearest tree) in hopes that the dearth of comments was due to my low ante . . .

In my area every other HI is hawking drone use. Maybe they are not on this forum. Maybe they have moved on to the next plane, leaving more business for me.

I saw the first post (at $500) and didn't check back in till now. I had nothing to add to the inquiry at that dollar amount.

The stability of the Mavic series, combined with overall ease of use, make it a good choice. I don't like that drones all squawk back to the mother ship every time you use one, maybe that can be "modified" or similarly changed.

The new proposed FAA rule about all drones sending out a "pulse beacon" and sending your flight plan over the open internet before every flight is a bit much.

When one considers that drones are now invading air space previously allowed to other aircraft, piloted aircraft, and while the drone operator is safely on the ground, the drone is not ... and neither are the other aircraft which the drone could have an impact ... advance notice of a flight seems to be the least one would expect of a drone/drone operator.

Agreed, but, I would expect some sort of alternative, such as a limiting device to keep the thing less than 50 feet or some other reasonable height.

There are no problems or restrictions with a telescoping camera pole, and most HI's use these things ("drones") as a " remote-camera on a tether".

A very good reason that a tether should not be allowed, same with height above ground limitations - can be modified.

Maybe if a height above ground limitation which was unalterable, and (a critical vompnonent) an altitude signal relay which verifies height above ground ... a violation results in immediate self-destruction of the drone.

Fair enough. I'll revise that to: immediately heads back home (to the controller) and begins to self destruct (no violent explosion, just a simple "falling apart" into small pieces) on the ground at the location of the controller.
