Hello,

I am a tinker and fixer of many things such as appliances, car, house projects, but by no means an expert any of them. I consider myself a MacGyverist, a phrase I made up but sums up well. though I make every effort to use the correct tools and methods to get a project done I will used unconventional methods to achieve temporary fixes until the right part or tools can be obtained. Of course, I will not compromise safety. For example, fixing my 20 something year old dishwasher faucet hook-up by making teeth from a hard plastic spatula until I could find replacement parts, if they were still available. Or a gas syphon out of a dollar store condiment bottle, refrigerator hose, electrical tape, and a glass jar to remove gas from my large tiller, attempting to show my daughters how to use things around them to achieve something if the actual thing you need was not available in an emergency.. in other words to think outside the box. I always like to watch, learn, and ask questions when service people come to do work, most oblige my inquires, to add to my tinkerer and fixer toolbox.
