I think a 10-guage is only going to scatter the shot all around it.
I would try a good .303 or maybe a 30-06 if you have a good eye. A Uzi or a Colt AR-15 with a 30 round clip would make the job real easy.
Couple of good shots and you could probably knock it free. ;)

Use a 22 and let apprentices keep score how many shots:)
