Worst handrail I've seen.

If you can't get a good hold on it, it looks as your going to meet your maker for sure when you fall.

Sorry about the flash. Maybe its the flash of light you see when you check out.

Maybe that's why there's all those crosses at the bottom?

Combine that handrail with those also-not-to-code winders and you may need all those crosses.

Rick,
The Boss said to put up a hand rail. What's the Problem? :)

The Winterizing Twins have a New Side Line. :D

That's an accident waiting to happen which when it does will more than likely generate a law suit! Of course you know that, but your photo brings home the fact that we may be more about occupant safety hazards than any other single issue? Stairs have been the #1 cause of home accidents/injuries for years.

West Coast Jerry,

What is your personal opinion of winders (legal ones) being in a otherwise 'straight' stair (as shown in that photo)?

What is you personal opinion of winders (illegal ones) as shown in that photo?

What is your personal opinion regarding the conflict between 'allowing winders' and 'requiring all treads to be with 3/8" of each other'?

:D

Just curious if your opinion is the same as mine.
