WH_ Water in Emergency Pan

Came across this today.

Water heater thermostat was set at the "Vacation" setting.

I bumped up the thermostat to heat up the water and about an hour later I observed some leakage in the emergency pan.

Could this possibly be just some condensation that dripped past the burner during the heating process.

Any comments?

Rick, heck if I know. Is that one of the sealed units with the little window to see the flame?
I do know that you can get quite a bit of condensation from the burner on a cold tank of water, but I have never seen that much at one time.

Not answering the asked question, only adding another question:

Did you address that being down in the pan below the flood level rim of the drain pan? Looks like stuff down there which should not 'get wet'.

Also, let's see ...

Yes, I got all of those items listed.

The water has me baffled somewhat.

Pan was dry before I turned up the thermostat, I just didn't hear the normal dripping of the condensation on the burners as you normally would hear with a tank of cold water.

Where does the T&P drain to? That pan?

To the exterior.

Another thing was the cold water supply line was extremely hot. I assumed that it was due to being in contact with the flue somewhat though.
