We have a project in California permitted under the CBC 2001 code. Our question is in regards to 20 minute rated doors for a detatched single family residence. When is a self-closer required for 20 minute rated doors? Always? Or in certain conditions? If so which ones?

How so 2001 CBC, did you submit your plans and get your permits before Jan. 1, 2008?

Yes, we submitted Nov 2006 and pulled the permit April 2007. We are definitely under the 2001 code and currently under construction.
