Doubled 2x18 glue lam. 20 foot span. Same as in the approved plans. Deflection of 5/8 inches over that span.
Center section under poor doorhead flashing is wet and could dig in 3/4 inch with Awl.
Soft over the center 4 feet or so.
Sag noted at exterior blocked trim which has opened at blocked joints.
Any thoughts on the degree of deflection.
We have a SE coming but I was wondering what you guys think.
Thanks, Wayne

This was fixed a month ago. Had the SE go out and concurred that the beam was affected by the leak and would require replacment. Contractor was pissed as usual, which means I did my job. The flashing problem was due to the designer insisting on a trim block in the center of each door head that made the flashing a little more difficult and apparently more than the brain surgeon could handle.
