This is a 1965 home , the light was installed in the hall attic entry , door is soild wood, with old wires attached to the new light fixture

So that's an operable door with a light smack in the middle of it? That's a new one. That's why this is such a great job.

Come on guys ... quit complaining about a little bit of convenience - You open the attic access cover and the attic light is already on.

What more could one ask for? :)
