I saw a flexible copper gas line to water heater, no drip leg, no gas shut off for the appliance., I called the issue out and recommended having further evulations of the water heater by a plumber. The fha inspector came throught and did not take any exception to the flexible copper tubing. I thought all gas appliances had to have a gas shut off, drip leg and gas line should be black steel piping .

That's an oxymoron for sure.

Good-grief Mr. Peck, I find your post bitter-sweet and I think you're being a bad-sport about FHA-Inspectors. :D

DRIP LEGS REQUIRED AND MUST BE DOWNSTREAM OF THE SHUTOFF VALVE.
