A ranger was once asked by a park visitor how to tell the difference between a black bear from a grizzly. The ranger instructed the visitor to climb a tree. If the bear climbs up the tree to get you, it is a black bear. If the bear knocks the tree over, it's a grizzly.

oh my gosh...that's funny. I read that thing thinking, "dang, count me out on hiking, etc..." Then I got to the end of it.

That was great. As I was reading the sign I was thinking, "So? That's what I used to do when I backpacked in Yellowstone and other bear areas." Then I got to the punch line. I'm still laughing.
