Had an inspection today where the seller thought that bragging rights was due since they lived on a golf course lot and had never had a broken window.

Little did they understand the concept of what "lost thermal seals" were.

They had 38 windows with evidence of lost seals.

I inspected one on a golf course that had every single window covered with 1/2" wire mesh.
Can you say ease of egress?

If you've ever been to a public golf course in Beirut, Oops, I mean LAs Vegas you would understand their selling point. But.I guess the close calls just scared the gas out of them windows.

On some of the larger houses in my area (there is a lot of money here and a lot of big luxury homes) it is not uncommon to find 30+ window openings in the house - thats openings, not upper and lower panes. Especially the ones out by the lake or with views of the Hill Country

About a 12 years ago when I was selling and installing window blinds and shutters (trying in vain to get out of the residential construction biz) I sold a job with over 40 windows needing coverings. If only all the homes I sold to were like that I could have retired early!
