Hi all.. interested in the inspection business though am averse to arguing at the ripe old age of 50. Am presently a residential contractor, from smaller projects to home building and renovating. I work around the Lake George area in upstate NY... mostly lakeside.

If you didn't know, NY State requries licensing of Home Inspectors since 2006.
Contact the Department of State Division of Licensing Services Welcome to the Division of Licensing (http://www.dos.state.ny.US/lcns/homemain.htm) regarding their requirements and where to take courses.
You should also attend a local chapter meeting of a Home Inspector Organization nearby you (ASHI, NAHI, etc..) to meet other inspectors in your area. These meetings are invaluable for entry level inspectors with networking and educational opportunities.
