I can find a requirement for switches at the bottom and top of stairs but I an not finding a reference for requireing switches for both/all/multiple entrances to a single room.

It seems to make sense to have a switch at all entrances to a room so that you would not have to walk through a dark room to turn on a light but ...

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Both are correct statements.

There is no requirement ... codes are "minimum", and, yes, it does "make sense" to do so.

Thanks Jerry!

I purchased a 3-ring binder copy of the 2008 NEC today. Yeah, new light bed time reading material.

I still am going to have a problem finding references that don't exist. :D
