Cut rafter repair
Is there a minimum length requirement to sister a rafter like this? I thought it was supposed to run the entire length of the rafter.

In our area they reccommend 4 feet each side of the cut and nailed and or bolted, some inspectors require gussets when tuss'. the one you are looking at is for sure not good!!

"They" being a design professional, correct?In our area they reccommend 4 feet each side of the cut and nailed and or bolted, some inspectors require gussets when tuss'. the one you are looking at is for sure not good!!
