Re: Attic issues
In the first picture: all the yellow wires on the rear wall, are they coming from some type of outlet???

Re: Attic issues
Uhh, the yellow lines are CSST gas lines, they are coming off a manifold. The Red and Blue are PEX water lines.

What information are you looking for?

Re: Attic issues
Zibby,

In Picture 1 it looks like bathroom vent does not go through the roof.

It may dead end or Vent through a Soffit Vent neither is allowed.

The Gas and water service lines I'll leave to someone else.

Picture 2 The purlin, wed member, brace under the rafter is misaligned you can see the pencil marks where it should have been.

Re: Attic issues
As Scott asked "What information are you looking for?"

The yellow CSST gas lines are not properly supported.

That white plastic duct is not allowed for any use, much less in the attic.

The ceiling joists (based on the direction of the insulation and the boards laying on the insulation) are running perpendicular to the rafters, indicating that rafters ties will be required (but none are shown in the photo).

The PVC vent at the gable end needs to be strapped and supported.

The second photo shows a rafter only partially bearing on a 2x laid flat-wise (I am guessing that this was done to get more bearing than just the top of that 2x the flat-wise one is on). Is this at a valley?

Re: Attic issues
Zibby,

The Gas appliance flue has Aluminum Tape instead of screws and over time will fall off.
They should be joined with 3 screws.

The bundle or bunch of improperly installed wires in contact with flue is a fire hazard.

Shoot the Builder.

Stay Tuned For Much More!

Re: Attic issues
"Shoot the Builder."

Making the builder live in the home would be a more apt punishment!

Were the plans in crayon? If what is visible is so screwed up, do you think the covered up stuff is any better?

Report..."Builder hasn't a clue. Find another house!"

Re: Attic issues
Zibby,

I thought the flue Pipe in the 3rd picture was on the wall.

On blowup second look it's on top of the ceiling and runs FLAT!

There is noway it's going to vent the gas exhaust and could KILL the occupants!!!!

Call the locale AHJ NOW!!!
