    Default "Stucco" gable end wall??????

    Gentlemen,

Inspecting a 1920 style bungalow. Concrete/Clay tile roof, Stucco material over what may be brick. Brick foundation.

These are the pictures in the attic of the gable end wall. There are four of these end walls built exactly the same way. It looks like the same material the roof is made from. I have never seen this before.

    Thanks for the help.

    Structural Terra Cotta

Here in Chicago, we even see it used for foundation walls.

They used to build schools, jails, prisons, government buildings with that structural tile.

Of course, though, the above is not a comment on the "how" they constructed those gable ends in your photos, simply a comment on the material used.
