Are you sure they are improperly spaced?

What are you basing your "improperly spaced" conclusion on?

Here are a couple of things to think about...
    • Yes, todays building requirements require maximum spacing at 33"
    • But... 10 years ago, was that the requirement of your jurisdiction?
    • Had your jurisdiction adopted the IRC at that time? I doubt it because back then, most of us were going under the requirements of the 1995 ICBO, One and Two Family Dwelling Code, which also requires weeps spaced at 33 inches max (703.7.4). However, you still have to find out what requirements the home was built under and not make assumptions.
It's a very tricky wicket to do retro code inspections. At this point, if the home has weeps every 3' and they are unblocked all around the home, I would not make a big deal out of it. In-other-words, it wouldn't even make my report.
