Dangerous stairs

Maybe the mother in law stays upstairs.

Oh yeah for sure. Jerry, this was one of those inspections that turned into a coffee table book of "What Not to Do to a House"

I'll bet that was one of those HGTV stair storage projects gone bad (if it is possible for one to go well).
Somebody posted a picture that had drawers in the riser a long while back.
Ricks picture looks like they intended to do a flip top tread.
