    Default Honey Bees

    A 1870's circa house.

Honey bees had three nests in the walls.

None of the walls were insulated due to age, just studs and the brick. The total weight of combs and honey was 40 lbs!

They entered through the fascia and soffit board area. Observed by the owner during warmer months.

I imagining this is removed by owner until winter dorm for safety.

No they had a professional bee keeper come in and open the wall and remove the bees.

The bees will warm the house in the winter and cool the house in the summer just like a regular hive. Maybe it is a new Eco friendly design. Or just renewable insulation.

    SWEET!

(Sorry. If you don't let those comments out, they just stay inside and fester.)
