Re: garage door - - reinforcement bar
I don't know where an engineer would put it but I always see it at arrow B.

Re: garage door - - reinforcement bar
It appears that Arrow "B" references the installed door strut.

You win this round...

Re: garage door - - reinforcement bar
Looks like one has already been installed. At least that's what they look like here in backwards TN.

Re: garage door - - reinforcement bar
Look at the manufacturer's installation instructions.

I've never seen them on top of the door, I've always seen them 'where' the door opener attaches.

However, I suspect that BOTH would accomplish the intended goal of not folding the door up.

The winner, though, would be the one who said where the manufacturer says, which may be neither of you.

Re: garage door - - reinforcement bar
That one looks like it is right where the point of attachment is-- which in my oninion, would be right.

Of course it doesen't matter what I think... The manufacturer's instructions will supercede everything.

Re: garage door - - reinforcement bar
John,
There you go tearing up a perfectly good garage door.

I bet it wasn't that way before you showed up, or so they'll say.
