More effort to do it "wrong" !!
Just continues to amaze me at the efforts folks go through to "do things the wrong way".
And this family had "young-ins" and toys about ... go figure ??

Re: More effort to do it "wrong" !!
It's only 1/2 HP, drywall will hold it ... no problem.

Re: More effort to do it "wrong" !!
Are those the electric eyes set in a bracket that is then attached to the hangers holding the opener to the drywall?

Scott-- it looks like the electronic eyes are attached separate. That photo could be a bit decieving.

Re: More effort to do it "wrong" !!
Maybe they didn't have enough wire to run them to the doors!
I have seen several like that. I still don't understand it.
Craftsman = Either the homeowner did it, or even worse, one of the guys from Sears did it!

Re: More effort to do it "wrong" !!
Mounting the eyes at the opener is just lazy. It takes a "real man of genius" to take the time to run the wires to the door and then mount them either side...above it!
