Re: Let's see now ???
I'm guessing that the zip tie is holding up the tee fitting against the disposal discharge fitting. DIY fix for sure.
In fact the jam nut on top of the tee looks like it could be cross threaded preventing proper tightening.

Re: Let's see now ???
It looks like the slip nut is cross threaded, if it is, it will not hold the plumbing tight, can also cause leak at slip joint.
Vibration/noise
Thin lightweight SS sink
Improper mounting
loose mounting bolts, misaligned mounting flange, loose lock nut (ring)
Internal problems
Worn bearings, missing, loose or frozen grinder hammers, rust.

Re: Let's see now ???
To hold up the plumbing.
That slip joint slip nut looks like it is barely on the discharge pipe (others have mentioned it being cross threaded, but that's a minor problem ), and, because there is very little pipe into the slip joint, the force of the disposer's discharge likely blow the slip joint off the end of the discharge pipe.
Should have used a tail piece extension to get a good fit there.
Cheap stainless steel sinks? If so, any small vibration from stuck debris will be exaggerated as the bottom of those cheap SS sinks allow the disposer to oil can around.

Re: Let's see now ???
Definately a DIY fix to a leak at the slip nut. I've seen a dozen of'em and they all would leak if the zip tie was not there.

Re: Let's see now ???
Could have been fixed a bit easier with just sliding a Chevette tire rim directly under that disposer. If a gap was still present, an egg carton would about shim it up perfectly.
