    Default Kitchen Ventilation Required?

    2006 IRC M1503 has the guidelines for kitchen range hoods, but is an exhaust fan actually required in kitchens. If so, please point me to that verse. I can't find it.

    Only required if the kitchen has an open grill or one is built into the cooktop. It makes no difference if it is gas or electric.
