Default Range with no lower element, Seen this before

I came across a GE Range today that did not have a bottom element, yet when I turned it on it got hot, I think from the broil element. Anyone ever heard of one of these before? It was an all electric unit.

The ones I'm familiar with have the element beneath the metal bottom of the oven, you can't see it but it is there. Put your hand on the bottom of the oven when it is cool and set to bake. Usually takes 15 - 20 seconds to feel the heat.

The beatings will continue until morale has improved. mgt.

Yeah, that had me stumped... along with convection ovens.. I am not a FAN of them (no pun intended) I hate the new stuff..
The worst one is the baby door lock for the cabinets that you open with a magnet..totally invisible mechanism..then the seller has to show you how it works..you rub this magnet on the door!

As a repair specialist when I have a question like this I usually defer to the manufacturer. A quick look on line with the model & serial #'s generally will clear up such questions quickly.

+1 I have seen about 3 of these in the past month...the element is contained under the floor.

Agree, I see regularly see them, too. Don't wait too long to put your hand on the oven floor to see if it is warming.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
