General Liability
My GL policy is up for renewal and I'm curious what some of you guys have.
I have a policy that is not premises-only (not sure what it's called) and I pay $444 with Hartford. I know that premises-only policies are less expensive and sometimes have no deductible.
Does anyone else have a similar policy for a reduced amount? Maybe $444 is a good deal; I don't know.
thx

JB
Here is some info. I really never pay attention much and just tell them to put it together for me. Their rates are good. That is why I went with them to begin with. Barbara will hook you up with something reasonable. I just renewed my E+O and General Liability

Re: General Liability
My E&O (BRP) comes with a GL policy that is good while I'm doing an inspection. In addition I also have a $1M umbrella GL policy through Shelter Insurance, I have had it for 12 or so years. I pay a great deal less than $500 for it
My rate has actually gone down over the past couple of years! I pay around $200 a year.
Check with your local independent insurance agents, you might be surprised at what you will be able to find. Shelter actually has me listed as a home inspector, but my coverage is through their home office. A local agent did some research and discovered that they actually have a home inspector category. Many times home inspectors are lumped into a contractor or similar category and this is why the rates are all over the board. Many agents do not have a clue when it comes to placing a policy for our profession.

Re: General Liability
JB,
I have Hartford (many, many years).
$350/annual - $4M coverage.
They don't write this one anymore from what I understand.

Re: General Liability
Some of the lower priced policies are "premises-only" which means that you're only covered while on site doing the inspection.
My policy covers all the time and everywhere.
If any of you have this type of policy that's less than mine, let me know (Nolan - you don't count )
