Sales Volume for 2011
So, how's everyone doing?
In looking over our numbers for the year I was pleased to see that we're no longer falling year over year. After Aug we're up about 10% over 2010. Assuming the trend continues somewhat closely we should end 2011 better than the previous year which would be the first time that's happened since 2005.
Business is still overall very "ho-hum" but it's at least somewhat steady. We did see the annual slow couple weeks around school starting but it's starting to trickle in again.
What's happening in your neck of the woods?

The old adage that 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people is VERY true in the inspection business.
This is the 6th year in business. This year I'm up 16% which is the worst increase I've had. Expect to hit 350 this year.

Re: Sales Volume for 2011
I agree with the 80/20 theory. We ran a report at the end of August that said we were ahead of 2010. I didn't believe as every month has been a challenge and there is no consistency to the flow of bookings. I hope we continue to stay ahead of 2010 because it was a tough year!

Re: Sales Volume for 2011
Being a part time inspector, I'm not a good barometer of whats happening in my neck of the woods but I personally am having my best income year since being in business.
It's a combination of increasing referrals from past clients (not agents) and the confidence of my ability to justify increasing my rates a notch or two.
