Default Electrical work done by Homeowner

To all H.I.'s out there, what the first thing you go and look at, when the
when you find out that the Home Owner did some or most of the wiring in
the house? I'll go first, outlet boxes to small for the conductor count.

I weclome with open arms, all opinions on this subject.

Nope. We can't see the boxes, so cannot judge the size.
Number one is black and white The black and the white crossed, in other words, "reversed polarity".

Call the Building Dept to see if permits were taken out.
If you know the homeowner did the wiring you know because you have found problems(mistakes) that a pro would not make. I never had a homeowner state that they did the wiring.
So what is the first thing I usually find that indicates a homeowner did the wiring. Yes, Reverse polarity.
