Metal flexible conduits to A/Cs
Do you all write up the metal flexible conduits as a defect? I didn't see any deficiencies with the conduit itself...

Re: Metal flexible conduits to A/Cs
As a defect NO.
I write them up as subject to rust and should be upgraded to a weather-tight material. Some may call it Seal-tight material.

Re: Metal flexible conduits to A/Cs
Flexible Metal Conduit is no longer permitted for use in wet locations. (2008 NEC 348.12 )
When it was allowed, the conductors inside it needed to rated for wet locations also.
The technical and correct term is Liquidtight flexible metal conduit (LFMC) or
Liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit ( LFNC)
Sealtight is a brand of LFMC like romex is a brand of NM cable.
( but everyone calls it sealtight and romex , just like band-aid and kleenex)
