    Default Panel installation

Please tell me that installing the panel cover ontop of the metal siding used as a wall covering as gotta be wrong...if the panel become energized somehow, then that metal wall covering would become energized , correct...this has gotta be wrong, right?

If the enclosure projects as far through that metal as it should, there should not be a problem. After all, the enclosure IS (supposed to be anyway) GROUNDED, and the cover properly mounted to the enclosure is also grounded. And I would want that metal siding grounded too.

Not all that uncommon to see a distribution panel / load center mounted to a metal surfaced wall. Like Jerry said as long as the metal on the wall is bonded to the effective ground fault path it should not be a problem.
