Rarely seen in new homes...
While it is common to see it in older homes, for me to see an electrical panel installed inside a bedroom closet in a new home is rare, but.... there it was... in a 5,700 sq foot modern brick home. This home was in a rural area just outside of Rockwall Texas, outside the range of a city building inspector. Just sharing this for general purposes.

Re: Rarely seen in new homes...
Don't see that around here too much either anymore in new houses. It was very common around here probably pre-2005 in NC and especially NC condo's. The developers for some reason loved putting the panels in the bedroom closet. They started getting tagged for it and now put them in the hallways.
Looks like an odd set-up.

Heath? Royse City? Fate? exactly where?
If this type of install was done by a Licensed Electrician, his arse should be reported to the state board.

Re: Rarely seen in new homes...
A new house w/ diff. makes of panels? (SQ D HOMOline & GE) That is a sign of a screwy install. Even without considering the location they were mounted.
