Main breaker handle extension?
Just curious. I've never seen one of these before. Anyone know the purpose?

Re: Main breaker handle extension?
While it's tempting to say "Thank you, Captain Obvious", I won't because because I'm nicer than that.
Seriously, though, your response, while undoubtedly correct, begs the questions, Why the heck haven't I seen one of these things before, if they're so handy and useful? And why is more leverage needed on this particular main breaker?
It actually doesn't really fit. When you close the cover, it gouges the paper label inside.

They are quite common on commercial grade breakers. It is possible they "downgraded" a commercial unit for use in this particular panel. I've seen bunches of this style and honestly never gave it much thought.
