    Default Bad Wiring, just bad

Took these while on VAC, little tourist trap. Outdoor lighting, commercial property.
These were at eye level along a walkway in front of a business.

I see more 120V type Christmas style lighting installed wrong, any many times people use staples such as this and always I find going through the wire.

Awful, just plain awful. Reminds me of several large farmer market stands Ive seen in person with christmas light wire for key less sockets, scotch tape for splices, nothing in conduit, outlets nailed to wood studs instead of in a box.

Some of the worst offenses that Ive heard from were people vacationing in Mexico.

That's not 'bad wiring' ... that's a test station - you mean you don't recognize Darwinian Theory Test Stations?

Survival of the fittest, demise of the weakest/dumbest/etc. ... something like that.

Have not had a CHANCE to look myself, but I think that the NEC contains something about Festoon lighting when suspended between points or something to that nature, but do not recall anything regarding proper installation if attached to buildings?

The NEC does address temporary and festoon lighting, but it does not allow ...

... staples like that or going through the wires like those staples do ... heck, the NEC does not even allow proper listed staples to go through the wires either.

U's guys know nothing at all. Obviously, to the trained eye one can see that it is only one conductor that is bonded to the wood member. Upon rain and subsequent lightning, the neutral will be grounded via wet wood. Most likely the HO doesn't have a grounded system, so he fixed it, alright! Sheesh

Staples worked fine for Clark W. Griswold in "Christmas Vacation."
