Anybody seens something like this?
Does anybody know what this deice is? I found it on the electrical mast on a house from 1979. the label was very much no longer readable.

I believe it is the clamp part of a clamp meter which measured the amount of current flowing through those conductors. Whether it ever produced meaningful results is another question.

Looks like a CT ring to measure a portion of the current instead of the whole amount. The results are multiplied by a scale of the CT.
All answers based on unamended National Electrical codes.

They belong to the power company. Do you test their meters?

I wouldn't bother with testing. The device is on the power companies side of the meter. I would photograph and note its presence.

Looks as though it might measure current imbalance, though I'm no expert on current metering.
