    Default Remote panel rating question.

    Stacked condo / apartment.

The breaker on the metering box is 100 amp.

The remote panel is SIEMENS EQ24125 125 AMP MAX.

The remote is oversized for the main disconnect or am I missing something?
Well beside what everyone keeps on insisting.

Not a problem, it is a 100 amp service with 100 amp protection for everything down stream. Having more robust components than required is not a problem.

If it were reversed, that would be different. Or if you have additional information that would indicate inadequate power for the unit.

I would just add this comment - Mark the submarine panel with "100 Amp Max." That is something we see here, takes 5 minutes and not much thought.

That could really confuse people - the panel is rated 125 amp on the manufacturer's label inside and someone puts a "100 amp max" label on the outside of the panel?

Better to have that label state "Protected by 100 amp breaker".

That way you are not implying that the panel manufacturer does not know what they are doing.

And if one is concerned that some might not understand that label, one could add this:
    Protected by 100 amp breaker
(That means all youse id gonna git ta dis panel id 100 amp max)
