    Default distribution panels

This may be a dumb question, but how many of you give failure probabilities on dated panels.

That's a Zinsco panel, there is no "probability of failure", it "will fail".

Of course, though, that can be said of anything and everything - at some point in time .... anything and everything 'will fail' - has to ... *nothing* lasts forever.

On the other hand, Zinsco, like FPE, are of designs which inherently produce problems.

With Zinsco, it is usually that the breakers weld themselves to the bus bar, or burn the bus bar through. I've had Zinsco breakers so well welded (by themselves) to the bus bar that the only way to remove them was to break the breakers apart and remove them in pieces.

I.e., I always recommended replacing all Zinsco or FPE panels. Replace. All. Period.
