Default Thermal images of AFCI breakers

Lately, I have found when we do a thermal scan of distribution panels in new condos, ALL of the AFCI breakers inside the panel appear as overheated...Is this normal? Most other breakers appear at normal operating temperature.

    Thanks

    Yes.

AFCI breakers each have a small power supply inside them to run the computer circuits in them, that consumes power, which creates heat. It is that heat which you are seeing on the infrared camera.
