Re: homemade handle tie
Homemade handle tie. Seems simple enough. Replace with an approved handle tie.

Re: homemade handle tie
Also, the homemade handle tie keeps one from shutting the breaker off, which may allow them to safe the life of someone or prevent a fire, thereby saving the life of one or more people. While that person is trying to shut off the power to prevent a fire, another person may die trying to save the other persons in the house, leading to the death of even more people. The end result being that firefighters may be overcome by some inhalation while fighting the fire, injuring even more people. The firefighters blocking off the street may cause a rescue unit to have to be re-routed, leading to the death of a person the rescue unit was attempting to reach, or was trying to get to the hospital in time.
Only approved and manufacturer specific handle ties are allowed.
