FPE main disconnect
I did a house today that had a FPE main disconnect on the outside wall of house, 200 amp. On the other side of the wall was a newer Square D panel also with a 200 amp disconnect. I recommended replacement or just getting rid of the FPE main since there was one inside. The inside Square D was wired as a "sub" neutrals and grounds seperated and not bonded together. Is it ok to get rid of that FPE or should it be replaced with another 200 amp main outside...

Re: FPE main disconnect
I am not aware of any problems with the 200 FPE main breakers. If it is an isuue then it should be replaced with another 200 amp main unless the insde panel is made into the service panel.

Re: FPE main disconnect
As a generalist home inspector, I would question the FPE main and defer to an electrician.
