    Default Is this a termite?

Saw this at an inspection today. It looks sort of like a termite but I'm not sure. The picture sucks but it is about 1/4 inch long.

Looks like an earwig, assuming that is just 1 bug in the photo.

its hard to tell from the photo, but i would say its an earwig based on pinchers. It could be a swarmer termite without the alates (wings) these are usually black in color at least in my part of Texas. did you see any clear wings laying around? no. then: Did it have pinchers in the rear for sure? if so, then 100% its an earwig.

    No, these are termites.

When they've been flying, they're brown but they don't have tails.

Male Earwigs have curved pincers, females have smaller, straight pincers that could be described as "a kind of forked tail."
