How would you identify the bad guy? I'm sure it is very helpful to have as many civilians waving guns around during a crisis as possible .

Well, years of training, tens of thousands of contacts, thousands of arrests, then more training, then after than more training, then, after that additional training, then heuristic decision making (coupled with losing a few court cases). Eventually, ya just kinda get to know bad guys, I suppose (and I’m pretty good at it!)

Also, yes, I have been backed up by armed private citizens – nope; it didn’t make me nervous (heck, in my state I can just deputize them on the spot if I want to!)
