Default Is Continuing Education for Radon Necessary?

Having to obtain 16 hours of continuing education to renew certification every 2 years for NRPP is a waste of time and money.

Am I completely off base here? Have I missed some radical developments in the wonderful world of radon? I think it's a cash cow for NRPP & providers of CE.

    Anyone agree?

Agree 100% and the reason I decided not to join them.

RAdon certification is so easy you can learn it in 16 hrs. But so difficult that you have to have 16 hrs retraining every 2 years.

I agree and it is the reason I did not renew my membership this year. It is not required in my state.....

They offer much in the way of CE either. I'm down to Radon in the Tropics. The absolutely worst, most boring course I've taken in my life was the CERTI 16 hour fireside chat on Radon Mitigation. 16 Hours of listening to a monotone discussion and anecdotes about mitigation. I should have done like a lot of others and just skipped to the quizzes.

Now if you have a LOT of money and time, you can get all kinds of hours jetting around the world to the various conferences.

The above statements are expressed solely as my opinion and in all probability will conflict with someone else's.
