    Default unsupported chimney height

    Is there a required or recommended height, or ratio of height to chimney cross-section or some similar measure, at which a masonry chimney requires a tie bar to the roof or other support?

    (It's not that I'm all that concerned about this chimney, it's that I just realized I don't know).
