Landing at exterior door not centered around door
New construction. Landing with is 36" but landing is not centered under door (see photo). If the landing were skewed to the lock-side of the door, l'd be okay with that. When I went in and out of this garage, I kept stepping very close to the edge. I can't find anything in the code book that states the landing width must be evenly spaced around the door opening, but common sense says it should be.
Can't figure out how to delete one of the photos...

Re: Landing at exterior door not centered around door
You can't find anything because there is nothing to find.
The requirement is that the landing be at least as wide as the door (side of door to side of door).
Anything extra is better ... and the extra being to the latch side is even better (but not required).

Not well thought out. Maybe when the door frame rots out they should buy a door that swings the other way.
