    Default Odd Efflorescence

This caught my eye down the street from today's inspection - very odd.

Looking at the repeating "brick" pattern I suspect in may be "thin brick" gone bad, but that's just a guess.

    Anyone see this before?

My guess water is leaking in from the balcony area and water being wicked up the brick where it appears the soil is in contact with the brick.

The value of experience is not in seeing much, but in seeing wisely.

If you look at the picture centered on the door, the discoloration extends across above the entire porch to the right-hand corner of the building.

Looks like water from the window sill area. How much do you get paid for inspecting neighborhoods?

My curiosity, alas, sometimes seems pretty close to a vow of poverty.

I can't resist saying, as Dave Barry might, that Odd Efflorescence would be a good name for a rock band.
