Columns along patio
Anyway these columns could be for decorative purposes. They were not attached to anything along the overhang.

Well they are certainly decorative... but if you remove them I'll bet you will find shortly that they are also structural.

Connecting the column to the aluminium However if you wiggle the columns there is about a half inch of play at the top. So they are not supporting the overhang. I think what happened is the slab settled about an inch and the columns went with it.

Is the one to the far right bowed or is it just the angle
of the picture creating an optical illusion?
